To plan a trip with OpenAI's Codex and keep it in Goyondo, add this line at the top of ~/.codex/config.toml: mcp_servers.goyondo = { command = "npx", args = ["-y", "goyondo-mcp"] }. Your assistant can then use create_trip, add_activity, update_activity and get_trip to plan and edit trips that persist in Goyondo.
Connect ChatGPT to Goyondo
- Add Goyondo. Add the goyondo line to ~/.codex/config.toml and start a new Codex session.
- Ask to connect. Ask Codex to connect to Goyondo. It shows you a goyondo.run/connect link with a code like GYD-XXXX.
- Approve in your browser. Open the link, sign in to Goyondo, check the permissions Codex is asking for and tap Grant access. Codex never sees your password.
- Plan and keep editing. Codex receives a scoped key and saves the trip to your Goyondo account. Open goyondo.run to see it, edit it yourself or invite your group.

Frequently asked questions
- Does this work in the regular ChatGPT chat app?
- Not directly yet. The ChatGPT app needs a remote connector, which Goyondo does not offer yet. You can plan in ChatGPT and save the trip with Codex, or create the trip yourself at goyondo.run.
- Do I need anything installed?
- Yes: Node.js 18 or later, which provides the npx command that runs goyondo-mcp. Your assistant starts it automatically after you add the configuration.
- Do I need to pay?
- No. Goyondo is free to start and in open beta. The free plan includes 3 trips, creating an API key raises that to 10, and Pro adds unlimited trips.
- Can my assistant book flights or hotels through Goyondo?
- No. Goyondo does not place bookings or show live availability or prices. Your assistant can record a booking you made elsewhere so it stays with the trip.
- Can my group see the trip?
- Yes. Share the trip from Goyondo and invite people as viewers or editors. Everyone sees the same itinerary, including the changes your assistant makes.
